ABOUT THE PROJECT
We’re building a new primary school in the Craigieburn area. The school will accommodate up to 475 students from Prep to Year 6.
Last year, the State Government provided funding to buy the new school site. This year, the 2017-18 State Budget provided funding for design and construction.
We’re finalising the site for the new school, and will announce the location as soon as it’s confirmed.
We’ve appointed architects, and they will develop designs for the school in consultation with the local community. Once architectural design is complete, we’ll appoint a builder.
We plan to begin construction in early 2018, and finish by the end of the year.
The new school will open for Term 1, 2019.
Images will be available in 2018
This is one of the new ‘greenfield’ school sites across the state where the Victorian School Building Authority will engage the community through workshops and an online survey.
Local families can have their say on the education framework, the design of the school, and the facilities required to meet the needs of the community.
With your ideas, perspective and feedback we will deliver excellence in education. See
engage.vic.gov.au/schoolbuildings for more details.
The architects for the project are
Architectus and K2LD Architects.
Once architectural design is complete, a builder will be appointed. Construction is scheduled to start in early 2018, and will be complete at the end of 2018.
The principal will be appointed in Term 3, 2018. Once appointed, they will focus on recruiting staff and setting the future direction of the school.
Details on enrolment boundaries, and how to enrol your child will be published in 2018.
admission are available on the Department of Education and Training website.
