2017-18 Upgrade & Modernisation PROJECT
We are modernising the school where conditions don’t meet current standards. This includes upgrading general classrooms and facilities in poor condition.
ROUND 3 Inclusive Schools Fund project
Ashby Primary School will use the
Round 3 Inclusive Schools Fund grant to develop a variety of outdoor spaces specifically designed to offer stimulating sensory experiences for students of all abilities.
The designs will complement the existing sensory area, and have been developed after consulting the wider school community. As the project is school led, milestones are reliant on the needs and schedule of the school.
The school is creating an outdoor sensory and re-engagement space which will include a playground, kitchen garden, an outdoor classroom and cubbyhouse as well as an artificial turf area.
The Inclusive Schools Fund is a $20 million fund over four years, established to help Victorian government schools implement innovative projects that promote best practice inclusive school environments and support the educational and social needs of children and young people with disabilities.
For further information, please see the Inclusive Schools Fund page.
We have appointed
McGlashan Everist Architects for the modernisation project.
