PROJECT UPDATE

There are two projects happening at Diggers Rest Primary School:

  • The 2017-18 Modernisation Project to upgrade learning areas for 21st century teaching practice.
  • The 2016-17 Inclusive School Fund Project that will create a new outdoor sensory area for all students.

MODERNISATION PROJECT

We will update and refurbish classrooms and facilities in poor condition to improve standards across the school, ensuring the school has the learning facilities it requires to deliver modern education.

INCLUSIVE SCHOOLS FUND PROJECT

We're creating a new outdoor sensory area for all students. Facilities will include outdoor nature-based learning stations, a sensory garden, a rock seating auditorium, a games zone, and log seating. Each space will accommodate the sensory and withdrawal needs for students.

The Inclusive Schools Fund is a $20 million fund over four years, established to help Victorian government schools implement innovative projects that promote best practice inclusive school environments and support the educational and social needs of children and young people with disabilities.
