We are seeking feedback from the local community about their 'aspirations and views' for local secondary education. For example, would it be better to have a new school or a new campus of an existing school? You can email your suggestions to firstname.lastname@example.org
ABOUT THE PROJECT
We are planning the future of secondary education in East Bentleigh. Working in partnership with the Victorian Planning Authority, we are considering the options for a new secondary school or secondary campus within the new East Village development.
We are at the start of the planning process, with many steps to work through such as community consultation, planning approvals, site acquisition and decisions about how the school will fit in with the current education provision in the area. Delivering the new school depends on future State Budget funding, so there is no construction timetable at this stage.
The next step is for the Victorian Planning Authority to finalise the master plan for East Village.
While our review shows a clear need for a new secondary school or campus, we are also continuing to assess the need for an additional primary school and/or early learning facilities.
Details on enrolment boundaries and how to enrol your child will be published in the future, in the year before the school opens.
Every Victorian child is entitled to be enrolled at their designated neighbourhood government school.
A school may accept enrolments from outside the designated neighbourhood boundary, subject to the availability of spaces and the Department of Education's Placement Policy.
Policies on enrolment, placement, and admission are available on the Department of Education and Training website .
