EACH is enhancing and developing its existing Child & Family Centre located in East Ringwood to create a fully integrated children’s centre. The redevelopment will comprise of two stages:
- Stage 1 - the expansion of the childcare centre from 90 to 122 places, with the establishment of a dedicated parking and entrance facility; and
- Stage 2 - the development of a new family hub on-site which will include child and family services to support the overall integrated children’s centre.
The Victorian Government is committed to providing high quality early years programs to give every child the best start in life.
The Government, through the Children’s Facilities Capital Program, is supporting local governments and other service providers to invest in early childhood infrastructure. This funding will respond to growing demand for places, raise the quality of learning environments and improve access to services for children from vulnerable and/or disadvantaged families.
For further information, please see the Children's Facilities Capital Program page.
The development of the new childcare centre offers a considerable increase from 587m2 of floor space to 765m2. Parking will also be increased from 5 spaces to 27 spaces.
The new integrated children’s centre will provide additional consulting rooms, multipurpose and group rooms, offices, bathroom facilities, indoor and outdoor play areas, and car parking. Services will include a family relationship centre and additional rooms
for child and family services including maternal child and family health
, early childhood intervention services, an 8 chair
dental facility, general practitioner, paediatric outreach from the royal childrens hospital, family counselling and potentially a domestic violence hub.
