The Jacana School for Autism will use the grant to create a space better suited for the sensory motor development of its older students.

The school was established in 2013 within a mainstream primary school for students aged 5 - 8, but now caters for young people up to 18 years old.

It now needs to develop more age-appropriate spaces and facilities for its older cohort, particularly sensory motor resources and equipment that help students learn to manage their own behaviour.

Sensor motor skills involve a person's movement response to information we receive through sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch and other senses.
