A new Catholic primary school is being built in the Torquay North area. Funding of $4.5 million for the construction of Stage 1 facilities has been provided.
Non-government schools are an important part of Victoria’s education system, with over one-third of Victorian students studying at Catholic or independent schools.
The Victorian Government is investing $120 million to build and upgrade Catholic and independent Schools across the State, matching dollar for dollar the sector’s contribution.
The Government is working closely with the Catholic Education Commission of Victoria and Independent Schools Victoria to ensure available funding is targeted to the areas of highest need.
Stage 1 of the project will include general learning and associated areas, and site infrastructure.
