We are refurbishing Lowanna College, with funding from the Latrobe Valley Package. This will provide the school with contemporary learning spaces that are better suited to modern teaching methods and meeting student needs for the 21st century.
Dimase Architects have been appointed to the project. Once the designs are completed we will appoint a builder.
We're proposing to transform the current
large open learning area, to create a more adaptive and collaborative setting
for student learning.
The new layout would create four learning
environments. With operable walls and moveable
furniture, the spaces will be better suited to team-teaching and for student
collaboration in various group sizes and configurations. This will give students new opportunities to develop skills for independent
learning and working in teams - valuable assets for their future learning and careers.
Plans also include a new staff room and locker area.
Internal refurbishment will
upgrade finishes, lighting and furniture.
