We are rebuilding Melba Secondary College to bring the junior and senior campuses together on one site, giving students state-of-the-art facilities.
New facilities include three double-storey buildings that will provide space for growing enrolments. Students will be able to collaborate in flexible modern learning spaces, and the school is gaining new administration offices, a library and cafeteria.
All junior students will transition to the new joint campus at the start of the 2018 school year.
We appointed Y2 Architecture to design this project.
S J Higgins for this project.
The Melba College rebuild will deliver three state-of-the-art facilities:
- A double-storey junior learning centre for Years 7-9
- A double-storey senior learning centre for Years 10-12
- A double-storey hub housing administration areas, a library, food technology spaces and a cafeteria
Future works will include removing older buildings to provide additional open space and eventual capacity for 1,000 students.
The Department of Education and Training is exploring a number of options for the use of the former junior campus and will update the community by the end of the year.
