Tarneit Rise Primary School (formerly Tarneit West Primary School interim name) will be a new P-6 school opening in Term 1, 2018. It will cater for up to 475 students.
The Victorian Government has allocated additional funding (through the Shared Facilities Fund ) to go towards lighting for the school's netball courts, and a new synthetic soccer pitch that won't become water-logged or muddy during heavy rain. This will help to meet the fast-growing demand for soccer and netball facilities in the Tarneit area. We will work with the school on the timeline for that project separately to the construction of the school.
The state-of-the-art school will include a competition-grade netball gym, two outdoor practice courts and a soccer playing field.
The learning spaces will have flexible and open internal layouts to allow movement, collaboration and access to a variety of learning experiences. Facilities have also been designed around the landscape so natural elements will form an important part of how students learn and play. We are also designing the school layout so there are pockets for community and parent gatherings, and for multi-use spaces so that rooms can be used as meeting areas after school hours.
The architects have worked closely with the planning committee and Wyndham City Council to ensure the facilities are in line with the needs of the wider school and local communities.
We have appointed Law Architects for this project.
We have appointed Ireland Brown Construction for this project.
An acting principal has been appointed. We'll provide an update when further news is available.
