Additional funding of $500,000 has been announced for Yarrabah Special Development School. This funding will be used to provide a hydrotherapy pool as part of the current project.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
We are upgrading the school, including its early education facilities. We will demolish old buildings that are no longer fit for purpose, and replace relocatable buildings with permanent facilities.
We have begun preliminary works.
We're relocating student classrooms, and the staff and visitors carpark, to McCully Reserve (the school oval). This is to accommodate students and teachers throughout the redevelopment, so we need to complete this preliminary work before the new school year begins in 2018.
The school oval will also be fenced off from public access and reserved for school use only. Community use of the oval will be reviewed after construction finishes (late 2020).

We’ve appointed Architectus for this project.
