Last year, we asked you to contribute thoughts and ideas for the Frankston North Education Plan. Your input has helped create a plan to give Frankston North students the support they need to thrive.
The Victorian Government has just announced $15 million to deliver the first steps to lifting education outcomes for local primary and secondary students.
This will deliver Stage 1 of the Frankston North Education Plan, including significant upgrade and modernisation works and expanding and enhancing the Doctors in Secondary Schools program consulting suites at Monterey Secondary College ($9.5 million), and develop a health and wellbeing services hub and link the school with an onsite Early Learning Centre at Mahogany Rise Primary School ($5 million).
The funding will also include $500,000 for the design of stage 2, that will include new kindergarten facilities, subject to a feasibility review, and upgrades to Aldercourt Primary School. The Education Plan will also look at ways to increase participation, develop resilience among young people and build aspiration and pride in the community.
Education, good health and wellbeing transform lives. How can schools deliver all these services to our community?
That question is the focus of the Frankston North Education Plan, involving Aldercourt Primary School, Mahogany Rise Primary School and Monterey Secondary College.
The aim is to develop better education, health and wellbeing programs. This will improve support for students and families, and help build lifelong learning opportunities for the Frankston North community. You can view the Education Plan in publications below.
Community consultation for the Frankston North Education Plan closed on 29 October. Thank you to all who participated, we used your feedback to help develop the plan.
