The Victorian Government made a commitment to deliver 100 new schools between 2019 and 2026. This includes the new Bass Coast Junior Secondary School that will open in 2022.
This will close the gap for students in the south eastern region who are currently travelling over an hour to their closest secondary school.
The Victorian School Building Authority is considering a range of locations for the new school.
The new school will aim to boost educational outcomes by giving young people more opportunities to experience high-quality teaching practices and the best conditions for learning, while improving the transition through each stage of education.
Community consultation is now open.
