The development of the new childcare centre offers a considerable increase from 587m2 of floor space to 765m2. Parking will also be increased from 5 spaces to 27 spaces.
The new integrated children’s centre will provide additional consulting rooms, multipurpose and group rooms, offices, bathroom facilities, indoor and outdoor play areas, and car parking.
Services will include a family relationship centre and additional rooms for child and family services including maternal child and family health , early childhood intervention services, an 8 chair dental facility, general practitioner, paediatric outreach from the Royal Children's Hospital, family counselling and potentially a domestic violence hub.
The Government, through the Children's Facilities Capital Program, is supporting local governments and other service providers to invest in early childhood infrastructure. This funding will respond to growing demand for places, raise the quality of learning environments and improve access to services for children from vulnerable and/or disadvantaged families.
