The Victorian Government made a commitment to deliver 100 new schools between 2019 and 2026. A new primary school in the south of Gisborne to open in 2022 was part of this commitment.
The school will be located on land near Willowbank Road, Gisborne.
Acknowledging the geographic inaccuracy of the current interim name, we are consulting with the Gisborne community on choosing a name for your new school. For further information, and to have your say on the Engage Victoria website, see ‘school naming consultation’ below.

We consulted with the Gisborne community on choosing a name for their new school.
We wanted your
help to find a name that reflects the school’s unique identity, inspires local
pride and makes the school easily locatable.
The survey ran from Monday 16 - Friday 13 November 2020 on Engage Victoria.
Thank you for sharing your ideas and local knowledge so that the school design reflects your neighbourhood’s unique identity and has a great community feel.
We passed on your feedback to the architects to help shape the school's interior and landscape design.
We look forward to sharing how the community feedback is reflected in the new school designs in coming months.
We will appoint a principal in the year prior to the school's opening. The principal will focus on recruiting staff and setting the future direction of the school.
Details on how to enrol at the school will be provided in the year before the school opens, once the principal is appointed.
State-wide school zone maps are available at findmyschool.vic.gov.au (2022
school zones will be available on the site by term two 2021).
Policies on enrolment, placement, and admission are available on the Department of Education and Training website.
