The Bendigo and District Aboriginal Corporation (BDAC) is developing a property in Prouses Rd, Bendigo to cater for the future growth of BDAC and the community it serves.
The Health and Community Centre precinct will house all of the services provided by BDAC in one location to ensure that the local Aboriginal community receives comprehensive and holistic services. Currently services are located in a three sites in and around Bendigo.
Facilities
This project is Stage 2 of the redevelopment. Stage 2 will build a children's centre which will provide services to the Dja Dja Wurung community including:
- childcare for 3 - 4 year olds,
- supported playgroups,
- childcare, bush kinder, and
- community space.
This facility would also be available to other members of
the community.
Project Funding
The Victorian Government is committed to providing high quality early years programs to give every child the best start in life.
The Government, through the Children's Facilities Capital Program, is supporting local governments and other service providers to invest in early childhood infrastructure. This funding will respond to growing demand for places, raise the quality of learning environments and improve access to services for children from vulnerable and/or disadvantaged families.
