White Hills Kindergarten
This funding allowed the City of Greater Bendigo to upgrade the kindergarten's front play space with paths, various sensory areas, and a natural environment for the children.
The Victorian Government is supporting communities across the state with grants to build and upgrade early childhood facilities in areas where services are needed the most.
In 2015-16, $50 million was committed over four years to develop modern and flexible early childhood centres across the state. The 2016-17 State Budget built on that significant investment, providing an additional $10 million to the program. This was earmarked for capital projects in Victoria's fastest-growing areas and improving planning for future needs.
This investment, through the
Children's Facilities Capital Program
, will support the provision of high quality early years programs for children and their families by:
increasing infrastructure capacity to deliver kindergarten programs for children in the year before school,
promoting integrated service delivery at one location where families can access early childhood education and care, health and development and family services,
improving access to local and responsive early childhood services for children from vulnerable and/or disadvantaged families, and
establishing early childhood infrastructure on or near school sites.
