About the project
We’re building a new primary school in Tarneit. It will open day one of Term 1 in 2025 and help the growing local population get great education close to home.
The school will open for enrolments for students in Prep to Grade 6. It will be able to enrol up to 650 students when the school is complete. You can find out if you're in the school enrolment zone by entering your address at findmyschool.vic.gov.au.
Nicole O'Brien has been appointed principal of Riverdale North Primary School (interim name). She is a passionate educator with global experience. She believes every child can have a great education, within and beyond school with the support of the community. Nicole recently completed the Victorian Aspiring Principal Assessment and was awarded a scholarship from the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership to complete the Masters in Instructional Leadership at Melbourne University.
When open for Term 1, 2025 the school will include:
- an administration building
- learning neighbourhoods
- a community hub
- hardcourts
- a carpark
- a sports field
- a kindergarten.
The community will be able to help choose the new school’s name via the Engage Victoria website. Following consultation, the Minister for Education will make the final decision on the school’s name which is expected to be by early Term 3, 2024.
