About the project
We are expanding Clyde Primary School, constructing extra buildings and facilities on new land.
Works will include 11 new general learning areas including specialist art, STEM and music areas as well as a full-size gymnasium with a competition-grade basketball court.
We will also refurbish the school's existing building to provide a new library and staff work areas.
This will enable the school to accommodate more students, help alleviate enrolment pressures for surrounding schools, and meet demand from south-east Melbourne’s growing population.
In the 2018-19 State Budget, $271.7 million was allocated to schools across the state for land acquisition. This included funding for Clyde Primary School's site extension. In the 2019-20 State Budget, the school received $2.28 million. In 2020, the school received $20.52 million.
