Early Learning Victoria centres

The Victorian Government has committed to expanding kindergarten programs across the state and give children the best start to life.

As part of this major initiative we're building new early learning and childcare centres across Victoria, in the communities where they are needed most.

The Victorian Government-owned centres will be run by Early Learning Victoria. The centres will provide long day care along with integrated 3- and 4-Year-Old Kinder programs. Visit the Early Learning Victoria website to learn more.

In some cases, the centres may be co-located with services like maternal and child health services and playgroups. We’re working with local government and the community to plan each centre.

Many centres will be co-located alongside schools and in some locations at, or alongside, hospitals, TAFEs and other major employers. This will make childcare accessible and convenient for parents and carers.

Early Learning Victoria centre locations

We’re building the new government owned and operated centres in communities that have the greatest need for more childcare and kindergarten places.

The first 4 centres opened in 2025 and an additional 14 opened in 2026. Where possible, the new centres are co-located at schools to make life easier for parents and carers and help children with a smoother transition to primary school.
