About the project
We are helping expand and improve Cockatoo Kindergarten.
We will expand the kindergarten room and upgrade the children’s bathrooms. We will turn the community room into a second kindergarten room. We will also increase the play space outside to improve access and better connect the indoor and outdoor areas.
This upgrade will allow the service to offer kinder to up to 63 children at a time, an increase of 35. It may be able to enrol more local kids by spreading classes throughout the week.
This will help expand Victoria’s 2 years of free kindergarten, as part of our Best Start, Best Life reforms.
Funding
This project will receive $904,000 as part of the Building Blocks Partnership between the Victorian Government and Cardinia City Council. The Victorian Government has provided $4.59 million to support 2 projects that will create 181 new kindergarten places in the local government area.
