About the project
Barwon Child, Youth and Family extended the kindergarten to increase its capacity.
This project significantly increased the size of the main teaching space so that 33 children can comfortably be accommodated within the space.
The extension included a consulting room with full visibility to the foyer and the teaching room, a fully accessible toilet with a baby change room and a new staff office incorporating a significant amount of storage.
The existing kitchen and staff office was combined to create an enhanced kitchen facility with low benches to allow children to be involved in cooking activities. The extension to the kitchen also provided laundry facilities and cleaning facilities for wet art activities.
In 2015–16, $289,464 was allocated to the kindergarten through the Children's Facilities Capital Program.
