About the project

We are helping upgrade and expand Dalton Road Kindergarten.

We’ll replace the old one-room kinder with a new building. It will have 2 kinder rooms as well as play spaces. It will also connect the existing maternal and child health service to the kinder making it easier for families to access services in one location.

The kinder won’t be able to operate while building works take place so classes will move to a temporary location for 2026 and 2027.

When the new building is ready it will be able to offer kinder to up to 66 children at a time. It may be able to enrol more local kids by spreading classes throughout the week.

Funding

This project received up to $4.5 million as part of the Building Blocks Partnership between the Victorian Government and the City of Whittlesea. The Victorian Government has provided up to $24.25 million to support 5 projects that will create up to 490 kindergarten places in the local government area.
