About the project
We're building a new primary school in Cranbourne North. It will open for day one of Term 1 in 2026 and have places for up to 525 students, from Prep to Year 6.
This school will help meet increasing enrolment demand from a growing local population. It will help local students get high-quality education close to home.
When open for Term 1, 2026 the school will include:
- 2 learning neighbourhoods
- an administration and library building
- outdoor hard courts
- a community hub with indoor multi-use court, canteen and arts/music spaces
- a sports field
- a car park.
Enrolments for 2026 are open
The school is open for enrolments for students in Foundation (Prep) to Year 6.

Your new school name
The school was known by its interim name, Casey Central Primary School, during planning and design. Kala Primary School was chosen as this new school’s name following community and Traditional Owner group consultation. Kala (pronounced KUH-luh) is a Bunurong Boonwurrung language word meaning dog.
