About the project
We're building a new secondary school in Cobblebank. It will open for day one of Term 1 in 2026. The school will be able to enrol up to 865 students, including 65 students with disabilities, when it is complete.
This school will help meet increasing enrolment demand from a growing local population. It will help local students get high-quality education close to home.
When open for Term 1, 2026 the school will include:
- a double-storey building with:
- administration spaces and a library
- a learning neighbourhood
- a 3-storey building with specialist learning areas for technology, science and the arts
- 2 outdoor hardcourts
- a bus loop and staff parking.
By Term 2, 2026, we expect to complete:
- a community hub with:
- an indoor multi-use court
- toilets and change room
- a fitness room
- specialist learning areas for music and drama
- specialist learning areas for food technology
- a canteen
- a sports field.
Enrolments for 2026 are open
Kolorer College is a supported inclusion school. Supported inclusion schools are local government schools with some extra accessibility features. These features help them teach and support more students with a disability.
In its first year of operation, Kolorer College will open to Year 7 students only. An additional year level will be added each following year. The 2026 school zones are available at findmyschool.vic.gov.au.
For enrolment enquiries, please continue to email cobblebank.ss@education.vic.gov.au until the new school email is assigned.

Your new school name
The school was known by its interim name, Cobblebank Secondary School, during planning and design. Kolorer College was chosen as this new school’s name following community and Traditional Owner group consultation. Kolorer (pronounced koo-lorr) is a Wurundjeri Woi wurrung language word meaning lava flow.
Principal appointment
Ciar Foster has been appointed principal of Kolorer College. She has over 14 years experience in leadership roles in schools. She has worked at 3 secondary schools, most recently as principal of University High School in Melbourne. Ciar is passionate about making sure all students grow and learn. She looks forward to creating a school culture where all members of the school community work together to support students.
Funding
Funding from the 2018–19 State Budget was initially allocated to purchase land for a new secondary school in Cobblebank, near Melton. Following early community engagement in 2019 and further investigations since then, this funding was relocated to a secondary school for Aintree. In the 2024–25 State Budget, this school shared in $947.7 million allocated for new schools construction. This school also received Growth Areas Infrastructure Contribution funding for construction.
