About the project
We upgraded and modernised Building C, which contains the administration and staff areas, classrooms, toilets and ancillary spaces. This upgrade has created additional spaces in the classrooms, a new entry into the school and general internal and external refurbishment works.
Our focus was upgrading a heritage-style building, where the solid double brick construction had restricted the school expanding a learning activity space. We achieved this by redesigning adjacent support areas and making use of previously inaccessible parts of the building.
We also undertook significant maintenance of the building, minimised solar gain into classrooms, upgraded all external treatments including guttering and fascia, as well as removing asbestos.
We also renovated the front entry to address congestion and brought disabled access up to compliance.
In the 2016–17 State Budget, $839,000 has been allocated to the school.
