Leanne Sinnadurai: Hi, I'm Leanne Sinnadurai and I'm really excited to be your new school principal.
[On-screen text: How will you engage students and parents?]
Leanne: I invite families to come in and be part of our community. Strengthening partnerships is going to be key to the success of the learning of our students, and in a special school that is so important, and I'm going to be bringing that learning to our new school and learning with our teachers so that we can create the most engaging, high impact learning activities that we can for our students because they deserve that.
[On-screen text: What type of leader are you?]
Leanne: In every school that I've worked in, I've ensured that I've been on morning duty and afternoon duty, at least. Often recess as well. I know that I will learn every student's name. As a leader I want every student to know who I am. It's important for me to understand what's going on in the classrooms, in the playground, so that when I'm working with staff, I have a true understanding of where we can improve, how we can better support our students. That builds credibility for me as a leader, but it also means that I have a true understanding of what's going on for the students.

Leanne: So day 1, Term 1, you will see me on bus duty. What I want is for every student to wake up and want to go to our school every morning.
