[On-screen text: Introducing Melissa Lozanovski, Wollert Secondary College]

Melissa Lozanovski: Hi, I'm Melissa Lozanovski and I'm absolutely honoured to introduce myself as the founding principal of Wollert Secondary College.

[On-screen text: What does this milestone mean to you?]

Melissa: This milestone means being able to establish an incredible community with wonderful foundations that allow each and every student to thrive in an environment that is inclusive and incredible.

[On-screen text: What does good education look like?]

Melissa: Good education is giving every single student the opportunity to thrive, to achieve success, when every student's given the opportunity to flourish and to grow as the individual that they are, to know that every story is going to be different, but every story is going to be great. I think that's when we've absolutely ticked what good education looks like.

[On-screen text: What will the school be known for?]

Melissa: Wollert Secondary College is going to be a place where students can come not only to learn, but to be a part of something bigger than them and to be a part of a community, and I'm so excited to be able to give students the opportunity to embrace who they are and to share that with our community.

[On-screen text: What was your journey into education?]

Melissa: When I think about my journey into education, I think that I never wanted to be anything other than a teacher. And I think the role that we get to play as educators is just so incredible. I wanted to become the principal of a brand-new school because I really wanted to be given the opportunity to take some of the best practises that I've seen over my many years in education and put them all together to create something great.

[On-screen text: What are you looking forward to day 1, Term 1?]

Melissa: Day 1, Term 1 2023. The thing I'm the most excited about is seeing the vision come to life. We have spent so many weeks and months putting things together on paper, building incredible things behind the scenes, but to see that come to life, to see the students walk through the gates, to see parents smiling, to bring a community together is something that I'm beyond excited and absolutely can't wait for.
