[On-screen text: Introducing Honey Stirling, Ngarri Primary School]

[On-screen text: what will the school be known for?]

Honey Stirling: Hi, I'm Honey Stirling. The name of my new school is Ngarri Primary School. I believe Ngarri Primary School will promote a great sense of belonging for every student and every family member and teacher and staff member of the school. A great sense of well-being for our students and that they will develop compassion and care for others and have a real global perspective, looking from the outside in, and where students will strive for excellence, but not perfection.

[On-screen text: What was your journey into education?]

Honey: So I guess it was in my blood and I always wanted to be a teacher. I've been in education for 20 years now and love every minute of being in education, but more importantly, being in the classroom and shifting into a leadership position and being a principal today of a foundation school. Something I'm very passionate about that has led me on this journey through leadership to make an impact where it matters. To be a principal of a new school and a foundation principal in itself is exciting to another level to develop and build a school alongside your staff and your families and your students is super exciting. I've been an educator for 20 years now. I've been in leadership for probably a good part of ten of those years, really moved into leadership so that I could make a greater impact. Moving forward at Ngarri Primary School will give me that next step in my career to say I can put my thumbprint to something and inspire others to do the same.

[On-screen text: What does a good education look like?]

Honey: Good education looks like schools that develop really rich and robust learning experiences so that our students can develop a passion really, for intellectual curiosity.

[On-screen text: What are you looking forward to day 1, Term 1?]

Honey: The first time to see that uniform walk through the gates, first lot of smiles from our foundation students and staff. I think that's what excites me the most, is to be out the front, welcoming in our students, our staff and our families for the very first time. Those smiles.
