Art room launch at New Gisborne Primary School

I remember waking up on the Wednesday that we had art and I was in prep and I was thinking ‘Oh, it's art today. I'm gonna get ready and be organised and then I can go straight to school’.

I remember getting the newspaper out of the letterbox for Mum, and I couldn't read at that time but I could recognise the picture and I could tell that it was a picture of the art room. I heard fire trucks and then in the morning I was about to go to school and my mum told me that the art room had burnt down.
[student]
I was in tears I was like devastated.
[student]
It was also quite sad as well because um the art room was a really good place just to let all your creativity out.
[student]
We were really excited when we heard that it was coming back.
[student]
So much space and lots of colours and it seems really inviting and we got our outdoor space. And yeah it's good.
[student]
I like that it's got bright colours and it's a great place because we can also do some work outside.
[student]
We have a variety of space to use, compared to the old arm room.
[student]
I think think the new art room will be really good because we're getting off to a fresh new start.
