About the project
We're building a new primary school in Weir Views. It will open for day one of Term 1 in 2026. The school will have places for up to 715 students from Prep to Year 6, including 65 students with disabilities.
This school will help meet increasing enrolment demand from a growing local population. It will help local students get high-quality education close to home.
When open for Term 1, 2026 the school will include:
- 3 learning neighbourhoods
- an administration and library building
- outdoor hard courts
- a community hub with indoor multi-use court, canteen and arts/music spaces
- a sports field
- a car park.
Enrolments for 2026 are open
Murrum Primary School is a supported inclusion school. Supported inclusion schools are local government schools with some extra accessibility features. These features help them teach and support more students with a disability.
Visit findmyschool.vic.gov.au for school zones.
For enrolment enquiries, please continue to email toolern.waters.ps@education.vic.gov.au until the new school email is assigned. Learn more about enrolling in Foundation (Prep).
Your new school name
The school was known by its interim name, Toolern Waters Primary School, during planning and design. Murrum Primary School was chosen as this new school’s name following community and Traditional Owner group consultation. Murrum (pronounced moor-room) is a Wurundjeri Woi wurrung language word meaning joeys.
Principal appointment
Samantha Fleming has been appointed principal of Murrum Primary School. She has over 22 years experience in education. This includes experience of working with students with a disability. She is excited to be the founding principal of Murrum Primary School. Samantha’s vision is for an inclusive school that drives positive change. She aims to promote compassion and teamwork.
