About the project

We built a kindergarten at the new Narrarrang Primary School. It has 2 kindergarten rooms and will open in 2027.

This will help some families before and after school with drop-off and pick-up. It will also help some children make a smoother transition into primary school.

This kindergarten was previously known as Fishermans Bend Primary School Kindergarten (interim name).

Enrolment

Uniting (Victoria & Tasmania) was appointed to run this kindergarten. They will manage enrolments via their website.

Your new kindergarten name

Narrarrang Kindergarten was chosen as this kindergarten's name following community and Traditional Owner Group consultation. Narrarrang (pronounced NUH-ruh-run with trilled 'r' sounds, like in Italian) is a Bunurong language word meaning she-oak.

While being built, this kindergarten had the interim names of Narrarrang Primary School Kindergarten and Fishermans Bend Primary School Kindergarten.

Funding

In the 2023–24 State Budget, this project shared in $1.3 billion allocated to build around 100 new kindergartens to support Best Start, Best Life.
