About the project

We’re building a new Early Learning Centre at Northern Bay P-12 College (Goldsworthy Road 9-12 Campus).

It will have 3 kindergarten rooms as well as rooms for long day care, creating additional kinder and long day places for the local community. The centre will also include community and maternal and child health rooms.

The existing early learning centre building will be demolished to make way for the new facility.

In late 2026 we will install a new modular building next to the school at Goldsworthy Reserve. This means the service can operate from the temporary building throughout 2027 while construction of the permanent building takes place.

The permanent facility will open in 2028.

Funding

This project is jointly funded by the Australian Government and the Victorian Government through the Building Early Education Fund 2026. The Victorian Government is contributing $107 million towards 11 projects, and the Australian Government will invest $63 million.

The Victorian Government has committed approximately $580 million in capital funding in the 2019–20 State Budget to support the rollout of Three-Year-Old-Kindergarten.
