We’re building a new primary school in Pakenham. A confirmed address will be provided by local council in the coming months. It will open day one of Term 1 in 2025 and help the growing local population get great education close to home. 

The school will open for enrolments for students in Prep to Grade 6. It will be able to enrol up to 525 students when the first stage of the school is complete. You can find out if you're in the school enrolment zone by entering your address at findmyschool.vic.gov.au.

Zania Cope has been appointed principal of Pakenham West Primary School (interim name). She has worked in several leadership and principal roles spanning 33 years. Zania looks forward to bringing her passion for collaboration and inclusion to a new school setting. She hopes to create a vibrant education community that cultivates lifelong learners. 

When open in Term 1, 2025 the school will include:

• an administration building
• a learning neighbourhood
• hardcourts
• a carpark
• a sports field.

We are also building a community hub.

The community will be able to help choose the new school’s name via the Engage Victoria website. Following consultation, the Minister for Education will make the final decision on the school’s name which is expected to be by early Term 3, 2024.
