We’re building a new primary school in Pakenham. A confirmed address will be provided by local council in the coming months. It will open day one of Term 1 in 2025 and help the growing local population get great education close to home. 

The school will open for enrolments for students in Prep to Grade 6. It will be able to enrol up to 525 students when the first stage of the school is complete. You can find out if you're in the school enrolment zone by entering your address at findmyschool.vic.gov.au.

Your new school’s name

We have been using Pakenham North West Primary School as an interim name while the school was being planned, designed, and built. We recently consulted with the public on a new name for this new school.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the public consultation and provided us with their naming preferences.

The Department of Education will use these preferences to inform the decision on this new school’s name. The Minister for Education will announce the new name in the coming weeks. We will share this new name once it is announced.

Principal appointment

Zania Cope has been appointed principal of Pakenham North West Primary School (interim name). Her education career spans over 33 years and includes several leadership and principal roles. Zania looks forward to bringing her passion for collaboration and inclusion to a new school setting. She hopes to create a vibrant education community that cultivates lifelong learners. 

Facilities

When open in Term 1, 2025 the school will include:

• an administration building
• a learning neighbourhood
• hardcourts
• a carpark
• a sports field.

We are also building a community hub.
