About the project

We are building a school in the City of Melton.

It will open in 2026 with places for up to 575 students. This includes 50 places for students with a disability. 

This school will help the growing local population and ensure all Victorian students have access to high-quality education close to home.

Supported inclusion school

Tarneit Plains Primary School (interim name) will be a supported inclusion school. This school has specialised facilities and capabilities designed to accommodate students with disabilities. Supported Inclusion Hubs will provide a safe, accessible and inclusive environment for every student who enrols.

Details on how to enrol your child and enrolment boundaries will be published in the year before the school opens.
 

Funding

The 2022–23 State Budget provided $236.7 million to acquire land for 15 future schools, including Tarneit Plains Primary School (interim name). In 2023 this school shared in $280.1 million for the construction of 5 new schools to open in 2026.
