About the project
We built a new primary school in Wallan. It opened in 2026, helping the growing local population get great education close to home.
The school is open for enrolments for students in Prep to Grade 6.
Neil O’Sullivan was appointed the first principal of the school.
The school was known by its interim name, Wallan East Primary School, during planning and design. Muyan Primary School was chosen as this new school’s name following community and Traditional Owner group consultation. Muyan (pronounced moo-yun) is a Wurundjeri Woi wurrung language word meaning silver wattle.
